Building Community, Supporting Working Families

BEST afterschool program emphasizes learning opportunities in small groups where students can build relationships with their peers and supportive adults outside of the classroom. BEST provides a safe and enriching place after school that families rely on for their students to learn and grow.

“I love BEST because I see kids creating new friendships, developing teamwork skills and having healthy relationships with supportive adults”  -BEST Volunteer

BEST Makes a Difference Boosting Academic Success

Reading and Math test data shows that BEST boosts academic improvement for the majority of students who participate in the elementary program. Small groups of 5-6 students work through reading and math activities that allow students to build skills necessary for success in the classroom.

“The help that my son receives at BEST has given my child the confidence he needs to be a successful responsible student.” – BEST parent

In addition, the YMCA will be working closely with our BEST program and classroom teachers to extend upon any themes studied in class.

This child care program will only be offered on our school campus if at least eight students are enrolled in the program. If you are interested in the program, please contact Lauren at 541-521-0366, or e-mail her at
